What this site collects, which is almost nothing. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and your figures are never transmitted.

Your calculations never leave your browser

The calculator is a static page with a script attached. Every figure you type is processed on your own device, in JavaScript, and is never sent to this site or anywhere else. There is no server that could receive it: the site is a set of static files. Nothing you enter is stored, logged, or retained — closing the tab discards it.

Sharing a scenario, and the history on this device

The calculator can build a link that reconstructs your figures. Those figures go in the part of the URL after the #, and browsers never send that part to a server — not to us, not to Cloudflare, not to anyone. It is carried only by the person you send the link to. A query string would have been simpler to build but would have traveled with every request and landed in server logs, which is precisely what this site promises not to do.

The calculator also keeps your last five scenarios in this browser, using localStorage. That data never leaves the device, is not readable by us, and is not synced anywhere. There is a Clear saved scenarios button under the calculator that deletes it immediately, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it too.

There is no account and no database. Why it was built that way, and what would have to change for that to be revisited, is written up in the project’s deferred-decisions note.

What is collected

If you email us

Anything you send to the address on the contact page is kept only as long as it takes to answer you and to fix anything you have reported. Please do not include tax identification numbers or other sensitive personal details — nothing about a correction or a question requires them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
